Becoming a New Patient
During this challenging time your safety is our highest priority. In order to maintain a safe environment we are screening patients and staff with a COVID-19 questionnaire and performing temperature checks on everyone entering the building. As well, we have increased the disinfection of commonly touched areas in the office, allowed more time between patients to ensure disinfection of our treatment rooms, and streamlined the check in and check out process to limit patient exposure to others. We ask that if you arrive early to your appointment, please stay in your vehicle until your appointment time and enter the building wearing a face covering until your treatment begins. Please feel free to call us for more information.
As a new patient, we need a full accounting of your health history. We prefer that this is provided prior to your appointment. For your convenience, you can submit your information online via the link below. If preferred, you can download the forms, fill them out, and bring them with you or send them via email. These very important forms allow us to provide treatment with consideration of all other relevant medical conditions.
What to Expect
Your doctor will listen to your concerns, perform an exam, review x-rays and intra-oral photos, then discuss your dental needs. A treatment plan will be presented to ensure your teeth are healthy. All relevant treatment options will be discussed and any questions you might have will be answered. If time permits, treatment may be performed at this initial appointment. Our primary concern is that you are informed and comfortable with the treatment course taken.
Changing Your Scheduled Appointment
We understand how busy everyone’s schedules are and we know that unexpected things come up. But we ask that if you find the need to change your scheduled appointment, please allow two working days notice whenever possible. This allows us to provide treatment for other patients with more urgent needs. Repeat violations of this policy will result in a cancellation fee starting at $50 depending on the length of the appointment. Contact us for more info.
For your convenience, South Austin Family Dental takes several forms of payment. If you have dental insurance, please bring your insurance card and ID with you to your first appointment. If you don’t have dental insurance, it’s no problem. Cash or check payments are due at the time services are rendered. We also accept Visa, American Express, MasterCard, Discover and CareCredit.
As a courtesy, we will bill your insurance directly for services provided. Estimated co-payments and deductibles not covered by your insurance carrier are requested at the time of service.
Unfortunately we are not providers for any HMO, Medicare or Medicaid dental policies. We apologize for any inconvenience. Senior discounts are available for patients over 65.
For over 30 years, CareCredit has been providing a valuable financing option for treatments and procedures that typically are not covered by insurance, or for times when insurance doesn’t cover the full amount. CareCredit is also used by cardholders to pay for deductibles and co-payments.
